ST. LOUIS, MO — A free youth soccer camp in north St. Louis gave local children the opportunity to explore a new sport, meet professional athletes and build confidence.
Held September 28, 2026, at the Mathews-Dickey Club, the event welcomed children ages 5–13.
The camp was organized by Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater St. Louis in partnership with U.S. Soccer’s Soccer Forward initiative and New York Life.
Young participants received soccer instruction and met soccer stars Brad Davis and Tim Ream, who encouraged them to pursue their athletic interests.
One participant, Rodger Kelly, who normally plays baseball and football, discovered a new interest in soccer after trying the goalkeeper position.
More Than Just Sports
The camp demonstrated how youth sports can build confidence, encourage teamwork and introduce children to positive role models.
Whether through sports, education or community mentorship, investing in children helps create opportunities for a brighter future.
