🚨 TROUBLING CASE

BRINGS BRIGHTER FUTURE‼️

ST. LOUIS, MISSOURI — A case involving Angel Marie Kamler of Columbia, Missouri, has drawn attention after authorities filed charges involving the welfare and care of a child.

Boone County records list case 26BA-CR03507, with charges of abuse or neglect of a child under §568.060.5(1) and endangering the welfare of a child in the second degree.

Missouri law defines second-degree endangering the welfare of a child to include conduct involving criminal negligence that creates a substantial risk to the life, body, or health of a child under 17.

The records provided show a $7,500 bail amount associated with the abuse-or-neglect charge and a court date of September 24, 2026, at 9:00 a.m.

WHAT WAS REPORTED INSIDE THE HOME

A post from The Real Columbia, Missouri dated August 9 referenced information from a probable-cause statement.

According to that report, an officer responding to the circumstances involving one of the children reported finding substances suspected to be urine and feces, as well as what was described as black mold, in various areas of the bedroom where one of the children had been found.

BUT THE STORY DOESN’T END WITH THE COURT RECORD

Sometimes the most important part of a child-safety story is not where the story begins—but where a child is able to go from there.

A NEW CHAPTER FOR JAMIE

Angel no longer has custody of the children, and Jamie is now in the care of her loving and caring family in St. Louis, MO.

Since then, Jamie has made tremendous progress.

Most importantly, she is being given room to grow beyond the circumstances of her past.

After being out of school for nearly two years, Jamie is now enrolled and attending school again.

Jamie is also receiving help to prepare for the future, including exploring age-appropriate work opportunities when she becomes eligible.

That may sound like a simple step, but for a child who has been out of the classroom for two years, returning to school can represent something much bigger:

Routine.

Structure.

Learning.

Friendships.

Confidence.

A future.

And Jamie is moving forward!

SHE IS NOT DEFINED BY WHAT HAPPENED TO HER

Recent family photos show Jamie enjoying time at the park, laughing, playing and simply being a child.

No photograph can tell us everything about a child’s wellbeing, but these recent moments show a young person experiencing family connection and positive childhood experiences.

That reflects a young girl surrounded by love, family, and new opportunities.
